Good-Bye 2007

I'm both happy and sad to be seeing 2007 leaving. 2007 was such a great year for me!!! After such hard work and dedication I finally graduated from college-summa cum laude. (It only took 13 years) I really enjoyed my last of year of college. During my last year of college I did my student teaching at a great school. I had the chance to meet new people and get reacquainted with old friends. I will cherish those student teaching memories forever.
Not only did I graduate from college, I got a job teaching 4th grade. It wasn't the grade I wanted, but I now have found a new love for it. I love the school that I'm teaching at. The people that I work with are just wonderful. I have grown as a person and as teacher. I love the profession that I have chosen for myself.
2007 also brought sadness for me. My best friend of 14 years lost her husband in Iraq. It's so hard for me to see my best friend suffer as she has for the past four months. I wish that I could take all the pain away from her, but I can't. I just hope and pray that 2008 will bring her peace within herself.
I made a resolution as I always do at the beginning of a new year, and of coarse it has to deal with my weight. I again am going to try and lose the last 15lbs.
I hope that 2008 brings as much happiness as 2007 brought, and less sadness for myself and my friends. So everyone grab your favorite beverage and toast with me for a great new year.

How nice

I just love being on vacation!! The past two days I haven't done a darn thing!!!! Yesterday I laid around and watched tv all day long. I'm just sad that my vacation is just about half over. BOO HOOO!!! Oh well the sooner I go back to school, the sooner that the year will be over.

What a Nice Christmas

This was such a nice Christmas. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Yesterday, Armando went to work in the morning, so I spent the day doing some last minute errands. I mailed a letter, got the car washed, and went to the liquor store to get something for Armando. I spent part of the day at my brother's apartment playing with Matthew.
We usually go over to my parent's house for Christmas Eve, but things sometimes change. My sister-in-law had to work and Sean was sick, so needless to say we didn't do Christmas Eve at my parent's. Armando and I went to his mom's house for Christmas Eve. It was really nice. The were making homemade tamales. Yummo!! Armando watched his nieces and nephew battle their cousins on some WII game. Armando and I battled out a game together. I must say that I won both rounds of boxing.
Today we had a very relaxing morning. We woke up around 11am (NICE). We played around on the computers--I was trying to download songs on to my ipod (Christmas present from Armando) and I really don't know what he was doing. Around 4 we went to my parent's house for Christmas dinner. My sister-in-law didn't have to work and Sean was feeling better. We ate, opened Christmas presents, and then celebrated Susan's b-day (my sister-in-law).
I just can't believe that Christmas is coming to an end. It seems like I wait all year for this one special day, and then it is over in a blink of an eye. In a way I'm kinda upset. This is my favorite time of year, and it is basically over. I didn't even put a tree up this year. Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it now.
Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Freakin Pigs

This morning I woke up feeling very well rested. I told myself that I was going to have a wonderful day. I got dressed and left before 7. As I was on my way to school I was driving along minding my own business, when I notice a cop--Oh NO I thought! I looked down at how fast I was going--73--Yikes I thought I hope he didn't see me. Of course he did--that's my luck. I was pulled over and issued a freakin speeding ticket. I haven't gotten a speeding ticket in over 10years. I cried on my way to school. I called my parents--they kinda giggled--jerks-- I called Armando--he told me to relax and it's not the end of the world. But to me right then it was.
My friends at work all laughed at me--Again Jerks!!
I think the only thing that got me through the day was the fact that tomorrow is the last day of school before the holidays!! YAY

What a nice Birthday!!

Wow, the big 32 has finally arrived. I can't believe that I'm 32. Yesterday was just a nice day!! The kiddos all sang happy birthday and I was showered with hugs from each and everyone of them!! I ate three yes three pieces of cake--and yest that noise that you are hearing right now is my arse growing!! I got a couple of gift cards to Barnes and Noble, yummy smelling perfume from Armando, a black coat, and a toaster oven (my parent's crack me up).
Armando took to me dinner last night at Mi Piachi. Oh it was great. We had a nice calm dinner. Armando had lamb chops and I had a steak. Sad thing though--I was asleep by 9:45 last night!! Can you believe that--9:45pm-- I'm getting old!!

That was the coldest Christmas ever. As we were driving there there was a blue line in the distance--The Blue Northern as they called it. It snowed tons when we got there, and my mom didn't think it was going to be that cold so she didn't bring that many warm clothes with us. But my brother and I braved the cold and played outside. My grandparents' tree was great!! It was aluminum with a light that shinned on it.

My hair

Yesterday I had an appointment with my wonderful hairstylist to get a haircut. It had been 6 months since my last one, so it was a much needed haircut. I thought that I was going to just get a trim, because I loved my long hair. Well, when Julian said that he needed to add life back into it--Let me tell you --he added life. He ended up cutting 7 inches off. AGH!!! He did ask if he could keep going shorter and I kept saying yes. My hair looks beautiful!! It's just short--to my shoulders with a ton of layers. I'm just going to have to get used to it. Oh no, now I have to get up earlier in the mornings to do it before work--ugh!!

UGH!!

I'm sitting here on the couch dreading tomorrow!! I'm really not in the mood to go to work tomorrow. This weekend just seem to go by way to darn fast. I really need the winter break to hurry up and get here. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who feels that way. Without a doubt I'm sure that my kiddos feel the same way. I need a break from them and they need a break from me. Last year at this time I was already done with student teaching for the semester and I was on the count down to the last day of the semester. UGH!! Winter break please hurry!!!

Happy December

Wow, where has this year gone??? I can't believe that it is already December. This is one of my favorite months. Not only is it Christmas time, it is also my mom's birthday, my nephew's birthday, my birthday, and my sister-in-law's birthday. What an expensive month this one is going to be.
I just love the holiday's. I love the music, lights, and of course the food. I wish Armando did. He hates Christmas!! I just asked him why he hates Christmas and he replied, "I just don't." What a grump.
