Nice Day

It was a nice day back to school. The birds were chirping, the sun was shinning, my hair actually did what it was supposed to do, and my kiddos were good today. I had 10 kiddos today- 4 of them were absent. Strange-- 1 girl (who has missed 20 days) supposedly had a toothache, another girl went to the RBD concert and apparently got home late, 1 little boy is still on vacation in Florida (WHAT???), and 1 little boy who was sick the day we got out for spring break still is sick (UM...Sure). I honestly feel as though I really couldn't do much today because so many kiddos were absent. I didn't want to have to go back and reteach anything--so we worked on our practice taks worksheets, we pasted last week focus poem into our poem books and they drew a picture of the poem in their point of view, read our basal, and then I read 2 chapters from a book and then they did "Picture That". What they do with Picture that is they have to draw one scene that stuck out in their mind. They were all different--It was really neat to see how they saw the story from their point of view. Tomorrow I will read the next two chapters, and they will again do "Picture that."
After school I decided to go work out. What a nice change of pace that was. I just felt like I needed to. It was really nice. Then I came home tried to talk to grumpy butt (AKA Armando), ate something, and took a nap. It was just a nice relaxing evening.
I really hope that tomorrow will be just as nice as today was!!!
