Well, I had to take Friday off due to the fact that I woke up with a temperature of 100. I felt horrible. My throat felt like somebody had gotten sandpaper and scraped it all the way down. YIKES It hurt. I called my friend Glenda who teaches right down the hall and told her that I felt terrible. She told me to stay home. So I arranged for a sub, called my principal, and got dressed and went to school to find stuff for my kiddos to do. I managed to get stuff together for them and then went to the doctor. I waited in the waiting room for an hour, and then in the room for another 25 minutes only for the darn doctor to stay in the room for 5 minutes. He said I had the flu. GREAT! I'm antibiotics, cough syrup, and a decongestion. I hadn't felt that bad in such a long time. That's what I get for not getting the flu shot.
Next week should be a pretty low key week. Tuesday, we go on another field trip and then we give our kiddos a mock taks test. So, hopefully I won't have strain that hard. I really hope that my kiddos do well on it. I think they will. Cross your fingers please.

I am so sorry Suzy!! Being sick is the worst!! I too was home on Friday once again because of my back! I've done the very same thing, gotten dressed and headed 20 minutes across town to get ready for a sub.
Here's a little advise (which I should follow myself) email sub plans to that great teacher friend and let her help you out. Hillery has been my saving grace numerous times! (And trust me there will come a time when you can repay the favor) You can also put together an emergency sub folder that can be easily pulled out by the sub. (I've never done this but need to do it too!)
And I am not sure of what doctor you went to but do you know about the health clinic at Central office? I've never had to wait, I am in and out plus I don't have to pay a copay! Since you were already on that side of town you could of stopped by!
Anyways! I hope your feeling better! At least you have a nice long weekend to get plenty of rest!!
There's a health clinic at central office, and no copay? I'm there for sure next time!!!! My friend Glenda told me not to come up to school, that she would take care of everything--but I just can't do that! I need to learn to just let go on somethings and let people just help me out!! I'm so sorry your back is still not feeling well. Hopefully it will be better for tuesday!!
